Swing Knitting Workshop 2 not The slouch hat?
The project for Swing Knitting Workshop 2 is a cap. I almost never wear caps and don't want to waste my hoarded lace yarn on something I won't wear. Whereas I have the not-suitable-for-knitting Lion Chenille Sensations and some Crystal Palace Mochi Plus that I want to use up. I love the colors of the Mochi Plus but I don't really like working with bulky yarn. So I'm following the Workshop 2 instructions (another rectangle) with bulky yarn and I have no idea where it's going to end up. If I have enough yarn it might be an Einstein coat from Sally Melville's The Knitting Stitch. I'm not using the same "pauses" as Workshop 2. My whole project is designed to force the chenille to be suitable-for-knitting. I am using all of the different ways to tame chenille yarn - using a smaller needle, holding the yarn together with a second yarn (Noro Sekku lace weight in a green, black, brown, gray colorway), and using a pattern stitches that intermixes knits and purls (seed stitch). If this doesn't turn out to be a coat, it will make a nice little rug. My cats love rugs. When I bring a new rug home, their attitude is always "For me?!!!" The Noro combined with the chenille gives the "pauses" a tweedy look that goes really well the the grayed, shaded Mochi Plus. I'm actually using 3 different colorways of the Mochi Plus. They seem to blend really well. So far I've used up one skein of chenille and one and a half of Mochi Plus. It's not looking good for the Einstein coat. Maybe a kira, a very short kira, if I had a couple of really nice pins for the shoulders?
